The Unconventional Kitchen is proud to have Chef Kevin Watson leading the way, and we’re happy to introduce him to you.
An Erie native who now calls Pittsburgh home, Chef Kevin joined The Unconventional Kitchen in 2024, bringing decades of culinary experience and a deep commitment to community.
A graduate of the former Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in 1994, Chef Kevin began his career at the Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island before returning to Pittsburgh, where he helped shape some of the city’s most respected dining experiences, including the Top of the Triangle and Sunnyledge Hotel. He later served as Executive Chef at both Savoy and The Café at the Frick, earning a reputation for creativity, precision, and heart in the kitchen.
Chef Kevin also founded Pittsburgh Premier Catering in 2008 and has cooked for distinguished clients, including President George W. Bush and several Pittsburgh Steelers players. Beyond his professional achievements, he is known for using food to make a difference. Through his “Buy a Meal, Give a Meal” initiative and his volunteer work with Allegheny Youth Development, Chef Kevin has shown that feeding others can be both a craft and a calling.
Holding certifications that include Certified Executive Chef and Certified Healthcare Coach, Chef Kevin brings both expertise and compassion to his work. At The Unconventional Kitchen, he continues his lifelong mission: providing healthy, fresh, and affordable food to the Pittsburgh community, one meal at a time.
